The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has again re-echoed the need for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to directly sensitise their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards registration agents and dealers to the dangers of transacting in the sale of pre-registered SIM cards.
Mr. Yomi Arowosafe, Controller, Ibadan Zonal Office of the Commission, who made the call during the second quarter routine meeting with representatives of MNOs held at the zonal office in Ibadan, said the Commission has been doing a lot in the area of sensitisation and enforcement towards curbing the menace of pre-registered SIM cards.

The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Danbatta, has affirmed NCC's commitment to strategic collaboration and partnership, the fifth item of the Commission's 8-Point Agenda, just as he noted that NCC is committed to the implementation of all the items on the Agenda.

The Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Sunday Dare, the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in charge of Financial System Stability, Aisha Ahmad, and Mohammed Kyari, Commissioner National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) are among top level intercontinental management experts attending a special workshop on Financial Inclusion in Ballagio, Milan, Italy.
The workshop, focused on accelerating financial inclusion through government and private sector collaboration, is interrogating a six-country case study on deepening financial inclusion using banks and telecom companies as enablers.

Ashish Thakkar, Chief Executive Officer of Maraphone has said that the vision of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for telecommunications devices manufacturing in Nigeria is impressive.
The management team of Maraphone, a mobile phone company that manufactures their devices in Africa, visited the Commission’s headquarters on 10th July 2010 to discuss potentials of establishing a manufacturing plant for production of its affordable smart phones in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigerian youths through effective ICT initiatives that would magnify locally developed content onto the global digital space.
Felicia Onwuegbuchulam, Director Consumer Affairs Bureau at NCC, made this affirmation when she received Executive Council of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA Youth Enterprises Abuja, FCT) at NCC Head Office in Abuja, on behalf of the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta.
