The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) hosts special Expo tagged Nigerian “Telecommunications Indigenous Content Expo (NTICE 2022)” with the theme “Stimulating the Development of Indigenous Content through Innovation and Commercialization”.
The Expo is open to participants from indigenous telecom operators, manufacturers, regulators, government agencies, policy makers, innovators, influencers, industry leaders, startups, academia and global experts to showcase their products and services, innovative solutions and new technologies.

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ibrahim Pantami, today (14th July 2022) in Lagos, assured the nation that Nigeria’s telecom regulatory framework has been designed to address the challenges that may arrive with the advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the country.
Pantami, who spoke at the twin event - Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Regulatory Roadmap for IoT Ecosystem in Nigeria, hosted by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC); and presentation of two books authored by the Minister, declared that Nigeria has already exhibited its preparedness to harness the potentials of this new service, as demonstrated in the reduction in incidences of cybercrimes in Nigeria over the past two years.

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, will publicly unveil two of his recent books at the Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Emerging Technologies, coordinated by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The Forum will take place on Thursday, the 14th of July 2022, at the Sheraton Hotel, Maryland, Lagos.
The first book is titled “Datafication of Society to Foster an Internet Economy” and the foreword was written by the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Houlin Zhao. Mr Zhao has had a long distinguished career at the ITU and has served as the Secretary-General since 2014.

Nigeria’s broadband penetration recorded a quantum lip in the last seven months from November 2021 with a record of Seven Million new subscriptions, indicating a steady rise in nation’s quest to achieve 70% national coverage by the year 2025.
Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, who presented the figures in Lagos yesterday, at the launch of a book on the impact of broadband on the economy, said the steady growth in broadband penetration is positively impacting other sectors of the economy such as healthcare, education, agriculture, finance, transportation, commerce, governance, and other sectors.
