Business Education Examinations Council (BEEC) has congratulated the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on the recent platinum rating the regulatory body received from the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPRS).
In a letter signed by its president, Mike Okereke, the council, however, attributed the success to the leadership style of the commission’s Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Prof Umar Garba Danbatta.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC has just concluded the 84th Edition of the Consumer Outreach Programme (COP) today at the Multipurpose Hall of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
In keeping with the programme and spirit of the March 15 declaration of 2017 as the Year of Nigerian Telecom Consumer by the Management of NCC, this edition of COP was organized with a fitting thematic focus on Information and Education as Catalysts for Consumer Protection.

Nigeria needs at least seventy thousand to eighty thousand telecommunication base stations to actualize her dream of joining the club of countries working toward making Internet of Things (IoT) a reality by leveraging 4G and 5g networks.
The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Umar Garba Danbatta, who made this known at a sitting of the House Representatives’ Ad Hoc Committee investigating the health implications of mounting telecommunications masts close to building, yesterday in Abuja, said the country currently has less than 50,000 base stations.

The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta said ICT holds great potential for the nations transformation. “Although Nigeria has already plugged into the ICT ecosystem, it is yet to harvest fully the dividends of the ICT revolution sweeping across the world”. Danbatta said so passionately on Saturday in Lagos at the ICT industry most prestigious annual event - THE BEACON OF ICT DISTINGUISHED LECTURE/AWARDS – which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites, on Victoria Island.
Danbatta stated this in remarks presented on his behalf by Sunday Dare, NCC’s Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management who represented him at the event where NCC also carted away three prestigious awards - THE REGULATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD; THE ORGANISATION WITH THE BEST USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA AWARD; and THE ICT SPOKESPERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD received by Tony Ojobo, NCC’s Director Public Affairs.

The Management of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, yesterday reiterated its determination to ensure smooth running of the telecommunications industry.
The Commission’s Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, Mr. Sunday Dare who represented the Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta stated this at a meeting held at the NCC Headquarters with the stakeholders in the international data access and interconnect exchange services.
