The International Telecommunication Union, ITU has said it is proud to honour NCC for the Commission's commitment and participation - remarkable expressions that make NCC a "valuable partner at ITU Telecom World events.
This statement is contained in a certificate of appreciation signed by Mr. Houlin Zhao, ITU Secretary General, and issued to NCC at the end of the 2017 ITU Telecom World forum held in Busan, South Korea.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, is participating at the International Telecommunication Union, ITU, Telecom World 2017, ongoing at the Exhibition and Conference Centre in Busan, South Korea.
Organised annually by the ITU, the UN agency superintending telecommunication and ICT matters, the forum will reflect on and with a view to deepen conversation on matters that cover the entire gamut of telecommunication, particularly how "rapid growth of digital technologies is affecting traditional telecom and creating new industry sectors and markets".

Communications Minister, Honourable Adebayo Shittu has stated that Nigeria must deploy ICT and optimise the inherent benefits to tackle contemporary challenges of life.
Shittu said this at the Digital Government Conference organised recently in Abuja by Microsoft.
The Conference was conceptualized to empower governments to digitally share latest innovative technology trends and government solutions through Microsoft platforms to improve the capabilities of governments at all levels.

The Nigerian Communications Commission will continue to collaborate with other government agencies and international partners towards stemming the tide of cybercrimes.
NCC’s Executive Commissioner (Stakeholder Management), Mr Sunday Dare stated this on recently at the Commission’s Headquarters during an interactive session with representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC.
The UNODC eLearning Project Officer, Kamal Toure; and Cybercrime Expert, Patrick Boismenu, were at the Commission’s Headquarters as part of their assessment mission to West Africa to gauge how well Nigeria, Senegal and the Gambia are able to fight cybercrime.

Representatives of Gamjitel, a telephone company owned by the New Nigeria Development Company based in Kaduna yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
The GamjiTel delegation was received by NCC Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, Mr. Sunday Dare, on behalf of NCC's EVC/CEO, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta.
