As two management staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) complete the final stage of their disengagement with the regulatory body, the staff of the Commission have continued to eulogise their eventful tenure at the Commission.
Mallam Ibrahim Aliyu, who retired as the Head of Administration, and Chief Okechukwu Aninweke, Head of Risk Management, retired from the Commission upon attainment of 60 year mandatory age of retirement, and were celebrated at different occasions by the staff, who listed their sterling qualities and track record of achievements.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Thursday in Abuja, told a gathering designed for State Governors that the potentials of broadband are so enormous that if made available for their citizens, will be the best gift for their economic emancipation.
Pantami told the state governors and their representatives and other industry stakeholders at the maiden edition of Broadband Technical Awareness Forum for Governors (BTAF), organised by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), where Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, gave an impressive report card about what he has already achieved with ICT in the education sector, and many other sectors of the Edo State economy.

All Nigeria State Governors are set to discuss how to empower the citizens with latest telecoms technologies as they partake in the maiden edition of Broadband Technical Awareness Forum for Governors, BTAF, put together by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, and slated for Thursday in Abuja.
The programme, which takes place at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, Hotel in Abuja on October 20, 2022, and themed: “State Broadband Coordinating Councils: Potentials and Possibilities”, will appraise the Nigerian National Broadband Plan (NNBP) 2020-2025, which targets 70 per cent broadband penetration and to cover 90 per cent of the population.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has discovered, through social listening and environmental surveillance, that a fraudulent letter, titled: “Certificate of Site Ownership”, for clearance of “Mast Transmission Antenna”, is being circulated by some unidentifiable individuals, and purporting that the letter was issued by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
The fraudulent letter claimed that the Commission had conducted an inspection on a certain site which is for “9-Mobile Telecommunications Company G.P.R.S”. The fraudsters also gave conditions that the unsuspecting recipient of the letter would meet to make the certificate valid and effective for use by “10th November 2022”. It is possible that several and variants of the fraudulent letter may have been sent to individuals, and organizations, with the intent to defraud, using the name of the Commission.

The Nigerian Communications Commission's Computer Security Incident Response Team (NCC-CSIRT) have rolled a series of preventive measures following increased reports of Account Takeover (ATO) incidents to the Nigeria Computer Emergency Response Team (ngCERT).
An advisory from the body on Tuesday described an ATO attack when cybercriminals gain access to a user's credentials in order to compromise the user's account, pose numerous risks to the individual and the organization that he or she represents, as it provides a breeding ground for future attacks by cybercriminals, who change the user credentials once inside the account, effectively locking the user out.
